Pains of every kind fasten upon me.
रंग बरंगी सूल उपट्ठे, चम्बड़ जावन मैनूं ।
I carry tomorrow's grief; who will keep yesterday's?
दुक्ख अगले मैं नाल लै जावां, पिछले सौंपां केहनूं ।
Parted from friends, I am a crane lost from its flock.
इक विछोड़ा सईआं दा, ज्युं डारों कूंज विछुन्नी ।
My parents gave one blouse, one scarf.
माप्यां मैनूं इह कुझ दित्ता, इक चोली इक चुन्नी ।
Looking on this dowry, my eyes filled.
दाज इन्हां दा वेख के हुन मैं, हंझू भर भर रुन्नी ।
Their taunts surround me; a hard trial has come.
सस्स ननाणां देवन ताहने, मुशकल भारी पुन्नी ।
Bullah, He hides our faults; may this hour pass in mercy.
बुल्ल्हा शौह सत्तार सुणींदा, इक वेला टल जावे ।
Justice leaves no shelter; grace gives us our portion.
अदल करे तां जाह ना काई, फ़ज़लों बखरा पावे ।
