BULLEH SHAHTHE LIVING VERSE
FROM THE WORDS OF BULLEH SHAH

Mainu Sukh Da Sunehra

Bring Me Good Tidings Soon

Two ways into the same verse. Tap a line to find its echo.

Bring me glad news soon,

O traveller.

I am bent, I am drowning.

Tell him all my pain.

O traveller.

Loose hair, hands at my throat, the braid undone—

tell him; do not be ashamed.

O traveller.

I offer a hundred thousand, twice that if you ask.

Only bring my love to me.

O traveller.

My love has sent a letter.

Sit with me aside and tell me what it means.

O traveller.

May Bulleh's love turn toward me.

Write, and send the letters soon.

Bring me glad news soon,

O traveller.
