You spoke the secret, and your veil fell open.
सिर मख़फ़ी दा जिस दंम बोला, घुंघट अपने मूंह से खोला,
Why hide now, when your truth fills everything?
हुन क्यों करदा साथों ओहला, सभ विच हकीकत आई जे ।

You spoke honour over Adam's children; no likeness equals yours.
करमन्ना बनी आदम केहा, कोई ना कीता तेरे जेहा,
In all your grandeur, how splendidly you beat the drum!
शान बज़ुरगी दे संग इहा, डफड़ी खूब वजाई जे ।

आपे बेपरवाहियां करदे, आपने आप से आपे डरदे,
You fill each house; the world wanders lost.
रेहा समां विच हर हर घर दे, भुल्ली फिरे लोकाई जे ।
Why are you so heedless of me?

You cast love's spell and went mad; becoming Laila, as Majnun you died.
चेटक ला दीवाना होया, लैला बण के मजनूं मोया,
You wept, you washed the dead—what love you made of this!
आपे रोया आपे धोया, कही कीती आशनाई जे ।
