दो नैणां दा तीर चलाइआ, मैं आज़िज़ दे सीने लाइआ,
You wounded me, then hid your face—who taught you such tricks?
घायल कर के मुक्ख छुपाइआ, चोरियां इह किन दस्सियां वे ।

You drove the blade of parting deep and left me sick at heart.
ब्रिहों कटारी तूं कस्स के मारी, तद मैं होई बेदिल भारी,
You never came to ask of me; your promises were frail.
मुड़ ना लई तैं सार हमारी, पतियां तेरियां कच्चियां वे ।

You won my love and stole my mind, then vanished from my sight.
नेहुं लगा के मन हर लीता, फेर ना आपणा दरशन दीता,
I drank this poisoned cup; how little wisdom I had.
ज़हर प्याला मैं इह पीता, सां अकलों मैं कच्चियां वे ।
