BULLEH SHAHTHE LIVING VERSE
FROM THE WORDS OF BULLEH SHAH

Ih acharaj sādho kauṇ kahāve

Who is this wonder, seekers?

Two ways into the same verse. Tap a line to find its echo.

Seekers, what name can this wonder bear?

Moment by moment, a new shape comes.

Mecca and Lanka, Sahadev's secrets—he shows the two as one.

Yogi, when you find union, prayer-call and sacred horn are one.

Do not sift devotion from the lover; the heart knows its own.

See the Lord made plain before you—why need the scholar's Vedas?

Look closely: no unbeliever here, whether named Hindu or Turk.

Wherever I look, only that One—Bullah, the beloved fills every hue.

Seekers, what name can this wonder bear?

Moment by moment, a new shape comes.
