BULLEH SHAHTHE LIVING VERSE
FROM THE WORDS OF BULLEH SHAH

Na Jivan Maharaj

My Lord, I Cannot Live Without You

Two ways into the same verse. Tap a line to find its echo.

These withered flowers hold no scent.

Those gone afar leave little hope.

Our friend, our Lord, is far from us.

My Lord, without you I cannot live.

Why sleep beneath a pulled-up sheet?

Death stands waiting at your head.

You knew, yet did no worthy deed.

My Lord, without you I cannot live.

What have I gained by being yours?

I wept both eyes away.

With face washed clean, I speak your Name.

My Lord, without you I cannot live.

Bulleh, love comes home from far away,

bracelet shining, arms swaying.

My head lies offered to your Name.

My Lord, without you I cannot live.
