Do not hide behind your veil, beautiful one;
घुंघट ओहले ना लुक्क सोहणिआँ,
I long to see your face.
मैं मुशताक दीदार दी हां ।
Without you I am mad; the whole world chides me.
जानी बाझ दीवानी होई, टोकां करदे लोक सभोई,
If only you would soothe my heart—I call and plead.
जे कर यार करे दिलजोई, मैं तां फरिआद पुकारदी हां ।
I long to see your face.
मैं मुशताक दीदार दी हां ।
I am sold for nothing; come, beloved, my life slips away.
मुफ़त विकांदी जांदी बांदी, मिल माहिया जिन्द ऐंवें जांदी,
I cannot bear one breath apart; I am this garden's nightingale.
इकदम हिजर नहीं मैं सहिंदी, मैं बुलबुल इस गुलज़ार दी हां ।
I long to see your face.
