BULLEH SHAHTHE LIVING VERSE
FROM THE WORDS OF BULLEH SHAH

Bullhā kī jāṇe zāt ishq dī kauṇ

What does Bullah know of love’s kind?

Two ways into the same verse. Tap a line to find its echo.

What can Bullah know of love's caste?

No clues, no chores, no quarrels; waking and sleep fall away.

I curse Ranjha aloud and bless him in my heart.

Ranjha and I are one; let people face the test.

For the grove where my friend appears, I would take every sorrow.

Bullah, do not leave your love to wander through the woods.

What can I, Bullah, know of love's caste?

No clues, no chores, no quarrels; waking and sleep fall away.
